After finally finishing the school year, Veronica is anxious to go back to Canada, if just for a visit. When her parents say no, planning to go elsewhere, Veronica begs Ted to fly her home directly with his jetpack. Surprisingly, he obliges!
But keeping their trip a secret is hard when their friends can’t keep their stories straight and Ted and Veronica can’t seem to keep the peace.
The two will need to learn how to get along for both their sakes, or they’ll be in worlds of trouble when they return—assuming they can make it back to the US at all.

For Ted, this trip isn’t just an adventure—it’s a test of character. Helping Veronica feels like the right thing to do, especially after she once saved his life. But when doing good requires lying to his parents and breaking the law, Ted must wrestle with his guilty conscience.
Veronica, meanwhile, is forced to confront more than just distance. Her quick temper, self-centered decisions, and sharp tongue threaten to derail their journey—all while she questions what “home” actually means.
As pressure builds on both sides of the border, Ted and Veronica must learn that their choices ripple outward, affecting friends who are left behind to clean up their mess. Trust is strained, consequences loom, and getting along may matter just as much as getting home.
